TAVERN RIBAR

The authentic furniture and decoration of Tavern and our friendly waiters will make you feel the friendly domestic atmosphere. The tavern is a favorite gathering place of local people and fishermen. The Bonaca terrace located on the first floor will provide you with an amazing view of the blue sea and one of the most beautiful sunsets in the Adriatic. The Tavern has also another summer and winter terrace located on the central square of Karlobag. All this will guarantee that you will be able to fully experience the charm of this small place while you enjoy in chosen specialties from our rich menu of domestic and international dishes. We have prepared a rich choice of soups, hot and cold appetizers, pastas and risottos to meat and Adriatic fish specialties whose taste you will feel a months after.

Except our guests spending their summer vacation at our hotel, the frequent guests of our tavern and hotels are a groups of hikers, divers, sailors, hunters, etc. as well as business guests who take advantage of benefits of the hotel's surrounding for team buildings. The tavern is also suitable for organizing various gatherings and celebrations.

The tavern is open through all year from 07:00am to 11:00pm.

If you are passionate about wines, ask the waiter to show you our wine cellar with over 500 bottles of wine and choose one you would like to enjoy in with your lunch or dinner.
If you order the house white wine, you pay only the first liter, and you can still enjoy the same unlimited wine and at the expense of your host!

Standard breakfast enriched with some homemade dishes is served in the tavern Ribar from 07:00am to 11:00am. If you would like to have your breakfast earlier or later, please communicate the preferred time to the Reception the evening before.

Week of Adriatic Tuna, 03/26/2016 – 04/02/2016

In May, the Adriatic Sea attracts numerous fishermen in hunting wild tunas recognized for quality even at the most distant world markets such as Japan. Local residents prepare many gastronomic specialties of freshly caught tuna, and following their recipes, the tavern Ribar cooks are preparing meals because of the guests are coming back to the Hotel Velinac.

Week of Sardine, 04/09/2016 – 04/16/2016

Early May is traditionally time of year when the highest quality sardines are caught in the Adriatic Sea, fishermen gather in the Velebit Channel cast their nets for catching fishes, while locals prepare the authentic specialties from fresh, just caught sardines.

In the week of Croatian cheeses you can taste several kinds of cow's, sheep's and goat's cheese. At an altitude of 900-1000m with mountain wind "bura" the cheeses are ripening to the unique flavor.
